Wall Art Panels
Wall art panels fuse the line between art and design by creating a financially and visually accessible object. All units are the same price (originally $35) and the viewer/buyer can create his/her own combinations depending on taste and budget. akamundo‘s panels are stretched on 8in. square wooden frames using a transfer process to print onto canvas. The “unit” theme that permeates in much of akamundo‘s work is present here in the form of the square canvas multiplied many times to create a greater whole.
Originally, the concept was developed for an installation in a newly renovated empty house in Bethesda, MD, where 100 individual canvases with all unique patterns were printed and displayed in a variety of configurations. From a single piece to a larger mosaic comprising of 25 canvases, the unit is flexible enough to work alone or as part of an installation.
